This is a really overdue post. I so wanted to get down to writing about the fantastic weekend but never got to doing it till now, since I have 15 mins before my usual day of madness starts.
First off, the trip to KL was cancelled and actually I was kinda relieved after cancelling it – cannot imagine the jam that we might be facing along the NS highway and at the customs. Nevertheless, I didn’t let sheepygirl down even though the trip was cancelled (or maybe I should put it as ‘didn’t let myself down’…XD). I got down within minutes after cancelling at Ritz in KL to getting a night’s stay at a relatively new Amara Sanctuary in Sentosa. Getting a reservation done up for Saturday was kinda of hell with a ‘not so efficient’ reservations department. But the arrival at Amara, the first few steps into the tranquil environment really made up for all the trouble. Checking in was a breeze…and so was I in getting close to her after 2 weeks of deprivation. And she made it all up with constant love for hours and hours…if not for dinner I would probably not want to leave the room.
An evening of dinner at a restaurant by Palawan beach was interesting as well with both of us checking out the waitresses in micro-mini shorts and enjoying completely unhealthy fried seafood. And to top it up…ice-cream from movenpick. I better not get her beyond 42 or I’ll be the one to suffer. Keeping that in mind, I suggested a walk up to the ‘Southernmost point’ of the Peninsula and up a tower where the view was remarkable.
Back into our cozy room, I didn’t really take very long to fall happily to sleep while laying next to her, on her shoulders and hugging her. Waking up occasionally in the midst of HBO’s screening of The Lake House gave me a moments of sub-conscious joy, fully aware that my face was kept nicely tugged and resting on her neck…knowing that she is laying right next to me.
What came after that wonderful weekend was….reality…another week of hell at work. Tight schedules, meetings after meetings and consultations after consultations. All i can do now is to look forward to another getaway with her in weeks to come.
